Small transparency update

I'm pretty averse to most social media, but I usually give some relevant life context when I share my blog posts on Discord servers or on Reddit.

If you dislike social media like me, or found this blog through other means, I just wanted to let you know why its quiet recently: we had a baby!

At first I was enjoying some caregiver leave, so I had more time in between all that caregiving for working on the blog. Plus, in anticipation of limited time I had several blog posts in the queue at various stages of completion to give me things to release at regular intervals. I've pretty much run through those though, and I'm back to working full-time.

All that said, I'm still here, and intending to finish the Dungeon Room Index this year! My other indexes will come along too, but it will probably continue to be quiet around here for at least several more weeks while our baby settles into a better sleep schedule and I get more rest.

Dungeon Room Index: Great Halls

(Last time we did Libraries) I really like a big room, don't I? There are the reasons I already gave, but maybe it's that I find bigger rooms easier to diversify as well; I guess we'll find out what happens when I seriously attempt something smaller. Anyways, here are the rooms, with notes to follow: Halls, that are Great When I say "Great Hall", I'm using this as somewhat of a blanket term for a variety of large, open spaces: ballrooms, banquet halls, hallways (that are really big and grand; it's in the name!). Basically any space that is best served by a large, open area, especially one with high, vaulted ceilings. (And remember, if the ceilings aren't vaulted, they are quite liable to collapse! Better get some pillars in there...) With a room like this, I find myself a little at a loss at first to come up with new aesthetic flourishes; mostly it's all about the layout. Dungeon Room Index: Hallways

(I will no longer robotically announce what I did last time; there's a page now; use that!) I'm doing Hallways! Ha! I bet you think those aren't rooms, but my brain caught an itch and I must follow this inspiration. Here's the thing though; hallways are  different enough that I don't know that I can really follow my usual shtick of just dumping the drawings up front. Instead, let's talk a bit about hallways. Hallways as "whitespace" In practice, hallways are often an afterthought. So much so, that the definition of "hallway" in a dungeon could nearly be "everything that's not the rooms; y'know... where actual stuff  is".  Like the whitespace (greyspace?) on this page. You don't generally key hallways when writing your dungeon content.
